KINETIC INSTALLATION
Motion And Rest (2017.12) is a kinetic installation. This project is about the forms of art and the aesthetics of sport. Going back to the art itself, the primary effect of every artwork is to display aesthetics. So this project combined static aesthetics and dynamic aesthetics. People not only could see the static sculpture, but also the dynamic sculpture. The geometric elements that I used, are the prototype for everything in the world.
This project was inspired by the artist Alexander Calder's sculptures. His sculptures move randomly because weather or physical mechanisms. The reason of why I used pink, white, and biege colors is I wanted to people feel comfortable and relaxed. The materials I used included wood, plastic, and EL wires. It is combined different materials to make one artwork.
